Business Profile

Johan obtained his National Diploma in Nature Conservation and worked for the Department of Nature Conservation in the old Transvaal Province, for 13 years. He is also involved with the training of hunters and Professional Hunters.

He is an experienced bow-hunter and a member of the Professional Hunters Association of South Africa (PHASA), South African Game Farmers Association, South African Hunters and Game Conservation Association and Safari Club International. Johan Pieterse Safaris is an intimate business, catering for our guests in the true South African tradition and wellcome them back as friends.

We are a company striving to give you the best hunting experience through fair chase and ethical hunting practices and abide by the PHASA (Professional Hunter's Association of South Africa) code of conduct.

PHASA Code of Conduct

We hunters will conduct ourselves professionally and in a manner which will reflect honesty, integrity and morality. In the spirit of fair chase, the principle of sustainable utilization of our natural recources will be adhered to and we pledge ourselves to:
- Obey all laws of the land
- Will not misrepresent ourselves to clients in any way or mislead any client
- Will not hunt any animal which is not normally self sustainable nor in it's natural state
- Will not allow material gain to supersede principles of fair chase
- Will at all times employ humane hunting practices
- Will not hunt female animals with dependant offspring
- Will not allow a client to shoot animals at a distance beyond the capability of their competence or that client's equipment
- Will respect local community's property and input
